Visit with Santa Claus

Mommy and Daddy took me to see Santa Claus tonight. He visits the mall around this time of year to ask kids what they want for Christmas. Sometimes the kids smile and take forever giving him their list. Sometimes the kids cry and cry and cry! We waited a little over an hour and to my parent's surprise I was in a pretty good mood considering the waiting time. I was busy smiling at people walking by, playing with my Daddy, and eating my dinner!

They tell me that I did really good last year... I told Santa everything I wanted for Christmas, smiled for the camera and Viola...I was all done!

This year was a slightly different story, I actually knew my parents handed me off to this white bearded stranger....Wuahh!! They were waving at me from afar "trying" to get me to smile - Not Happening!!
Hope you enjoy the snap shot of my visit with Santa this year. Merry Christmas!!

Love,
Lauren Kate

Primacy Christmas Party 2007

Just went to the Primacy Employee Appreciation Dinner at the Tribute Golf Course in The Colony. Notice I said Employee Appreciation Dinner, except it was actually our Christmas Party. I think it is so silly that we have to change the name so that we don't offend anyone, however, there was a Primacy Hired photographer taking pictures of everyone in front of the big huge CHRISTMAS TREE IN THE LOBBY!!! Oh well, I'll stop griping...but it really upsets me how PC everything has to be now. Ugh! We had a good time - there was good music, good dancin'. Actually, I didn't dance, but my man did....with another woman. Yep, one of my colleagues had one too many cocktails and pulled him out of the crowd for a little dancey-dance!! He looked so cute...totally blushing....and Yes, he can blush..GEEZ! :)

(can you say...Prom Picture...Cheesy!)

Exciting Baby News!!

We are thrilled to announce the Exciting News.....WE ARE PREGNANT!! We found out on November 28th that we are expecting a little bundle of joy next summer. The timing of the special news is quite neat, because we found out 2 years ago on November 29 that we were expecting our first baby. Which means baby #2 baby will be born exactly 2 years after Little Lauren's Birth-day! (Did I totally confuse you?!)
July is surely to be super, super busy for us now!! I have my first sonogram next week and will update you more then.

Here is a cutey picture of Lauren telling the Grandparents!!

Chaucers Sushi Night!

Me and the girls at Chaucers Sushi in Addison. Well Kevin was actually with us, but he was 'one of the girls' that night. And we had him taking our pictures...HA!
We were celebrating Madai's 25th birthday. They actually celebrated the whole month of November (it seemed), but I was able to join in for at least one night of fun!!

Halloween 2007

This year we had many Halloween Festivities....started on the 20th at the Rosses Party. Then, we hung out at Tony and Daniels for a little after party. Following that weekend, we had our Annual Kman Fright Night Theatre, then Lauren's Fall Festival at School, and last, but not least the Donato's Halloween Party on the 31st.
October was a busy month, now that I look back! Pheew...now onto the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays..Yay!

I have to share one memorable cute moment...Lauren made the moves on little Colby Tucker. Yep, you heard me right...she gave her friend a little smoochie, smoochie at the Donatos on the 31st. It was too cute!! Unfortunately, the camera wasn't ready for the big moment, but I have it documented so we can look back on this date and remember! HA!

Getting Ready for Game Day!

Daddy bought me this super cute San Francisco 49ers Onesie that I like to wear on Sundays for Game Day. Just so you know, although we live in Dallas, he does not like the Dallas "Cowgirls" (that's what he likes to call them). His friends like to tease and give him a hard time about it, but it doesn't seem to bother him much....Always a Niner Fan!!

Roman's Birthday!

My nephew turned One on September 14th and my sister had a fun pool party for him at my parents. All of his friends were there to help him celebrate!

Happy Birthday, Roman!!

OU SUCKS!!

Well, maybe not so much this weekend cause they won, but you know what I mean. Kevin and I went to the Texas - OU game compliments of our Buddy of the Year....Hoger! He was nice enough to give us 2 tickets to the game! It was my first time to visit the Cotton Bowl for a college game; Kevin's been several times to the New Years Day games, but never the Big River Shoot out...Texas - OU. Texas played well, just couldn't pull it off in the end.

We had a blast! We'll get 'em next year!

Go TEXAS!

Officially Walking!

I can't believe I completely forgot to tell you that our baby girl is walking Full Time. She started out by taking a couple of steps here and there and also walking along the table and coach , but now she is totally on her own....and all over the place!!

She took off just shortly after her 1 year birthday.

She loves to walk so much, here is a picture of her trying to escape our house one night...Busted!!
Ohhh SNAP!! :)

Loves to walk in the mall, loves to walk EVERYWHERE!! She especially loves when I pull out her fancy new pink Stride Ride shoes. She knows it's time to RUN...or she thinks she running; actually walking at a fast pace of -.01mph. HA!

Surviving First Week of School

Last week was my turn to take little Miss Lauren to her new school. Usually daddy takes her and is the bad guy for leaving her. But this time it was my job. As she wrote before, we were going to try the original class again, since she seemed to like it so much on the 4th. Besides the other teacher didn't write a long summary of how great she behaved. Miss Halaih is her new teacher and is really super sweet and has a great love for kids. (You can just tell from looking at her that she connects really well with them).
Well, my baby girl started out the morning kinda rough, a little runny nose (allergies are out of control this year), woke up a little earlier than normal and didn't seem to feel very well. I think she was already using the "mom, I don't wanna go to school b/c I don't feel well tactic". Hmmm...but I didn't let it get to me this time!
I dropped her off around 8:45 and she cried as I was leaving. Just broke my heart!! It was SO HARD to see her sweet little face turning red and tears starting to fill up her eyes. I had to give her my goodbye kisses in a hurry and leave right away. (the teachers say that is the best thing to do). I stuck around outside the class for a minute, then peeked in...all was good...she stopped crying. Yayy!
This week has been a major improvement, not as many tears and seems to be excited when we talk about school. She survived her first week....and so did we!

My First Day of School!

Hi everyone, not sure who reads my mommy's blog, because she never updates it, but I wanted to share with you my experience - First day of school. She lets me write in her blog every now and then....(smile)
I started last week before my parents went on their realllly looong vacation. I had a trial day on Tuesday, 9/4. I had a great day, meeting new friends, new teachers, new everything!! I was in school from 9am - 5pm...it was quite a long day. Afterall, I'm used to spending the days with my Grandma'ma, taking 2 full naps, and having all the attention to MYSELF! This school only allows me to take 1 nap...uh...hello...I'm only like 13 months and I need my beauty rest still. Pshh..( my mommy taught me that)
Well, I survived the day. My report card said - I ate some, I slept from 11:45 to 1:30 and woke up with smiles. The comments from my Teacher were really nice. I'll read them to you, "Lauren had a good day today. She enjoyed circle time with books and especially puppets and singing songs. She also tried painting with paintbrush for art (she wasn't too sure about it). We love her beautiful smiles and we love to have her in our classroom".
I'm not bragging, but I sure did behave that day. All my teachers love me!

Now yesterday 9/17, I returned to my school. Totally different situation. I did not want to stay with them at all. I have been really attached to my mommy and daddy since they came home from their vacation. So much, that I didn't want to let go of Mommy at Madelaine's Birthday party on Saturday and wouldn't let go of Daddy yesterday at school. He waited with me for about an hour before I finally let go and began to read with Miss Sarah. She's my new teacher. They're letting me try this class, b/c the kids are a little older and my daddy thought I fit in more with them. What can I say...I'm a smart kid! :)
My report card from Miss Sarah said, "Lauren had a great day, she liked music and art class today". She didn't write very much about me...PSSH...What-Ever......so I'm gonna try the other class again on Wednesday. I'll let you know how things go.
By the way...mommy will be taking me to school tomorrow, because my daddy left out of town to start his new job. I hope to do better tomorrow so that mommy will have a peaceful day at work without worrying about me. :)
Night-Night,
Lauren

Jamaica Slide Show

After spending countless hours uploading the pictures to this slide show program - it crashed and didn't save most of my changes. Ughh...so irritated. I'm posting it anyway and will work on editing again later.
As you can see, we had an awesome time. Hope you enjoy the fun memories we all shared in Jamaica!

Our Trip to Jamaica

Kevin and I just returned from Holly and Tman's wedding on the beautiful Island of Negril, Jamaica. This was our first trip to Jamaica...and wow, what a wonderful place!!! We stayed at the Gorgeous Tensing Pen Resort, a small intimate property located on the Caribbean Sea consisting of approximately 16 private cottages on the western side of the island. The private Jamaican cove was a beautiful setting for afternoon wedding in the Sea Song Hut and the weather was just perfect for the VanDeventer - Nguyen Nuptials. Holly looked beautiful in her strapless ivory gown with very simple elegant lace over the entire dress. Ati looked very handsome in his pressed white shirt with tan linen pants and brown leather sandals...truly a great looking, happy couple!!

Holly and Tman invited 40 of their closest friends and family to help them celebrate this wonderful occasion and we were honored to be included. My honey was the best man and did a great job at supported his best friend during his special weekend.

The friends arrived before the bride and grooms family; Wednesday night we had dinner and drinks at the resort and then moved the party down to the pool. This was a great time for everyone to enjoy spending time with Holly and Tman before the wedding activities began the following day. Thursday morning we started the day by having breakfast on the outdoor patio overlooking the Caribbean Sea - listening to the waves crashing against the rocks surrounding Tensing Pen was a beautiful setting to begin the day. The main activities consisted of jumping off cliffs located on the property approximately 30 feet above the ocean, sailing on the crystal blue waters, laying out on the beach, and enjoying time in the pool with friends after a long day. Pool closed at 7pm, but what time do you think we left? Can't remember, but it definitely wasn't 7pm. This resort was very secluded with limited access to telephone service and no TV in the rooms. Our group enjoyed the private feel, but didn't obey their rules. No Problem, mon!! :)

Well, we have returned to our home-sweet-home and are happy to be back. Vacations are always a great time to get away from our daily, busy lives...but it's always good to come home to our sweet baby girl and peaceful home. We took over 450 pictures, but I will be including 400 for your viewing pleasure....HA!! (photos coming soon)

Dinner at MiCocina

I love going out to eat on Friday nights....shoot... any night for that matter. There is just something about getting out to a restaurant and having someone cater to you, then enjoying a relaxing dinner....with a couple of Mambos, of course! We went last Friday night with the Rosses and sat on the patio. The kids had a great time just running around and seeing the ducks in the pond. Lauren wasn't quite running around, but it was still fun for her.

Here are some snap shots of our fun time!

Scott's 1st Birthday!!

We celebrated Scott's 1st Birthday this past weekend. Little Scott sure is a blessed and strong- willed baby boy. He was born with a congenital heart defect and underwent surgery just days after being born. Thank God all went well, a year has passed, and he is a healthy adorable little boy with a happy personality and lots of energy!!!

Thank you also to Scott for sharing his birthday with our Little Lauren. You are really special to us. Afterall, ya'll are practically twins...Fraternal....that is! HA!

Lauren's First Haircut!!

Our little punkin' is turning one next Tuesday so we figured it was acceptable to have her hair cut for the first time. It's funny because she has little puffy ball in the back of her head that grows much faster than the rest of her hair. Sometimes a little hard to manage. :) So, now it's all gone and one length all over. I have to admit, I shed a couple of tears when she was all done. She looks like such a big girl now. Hope you enjoy the fun pics.... By the way, my emotions are a little out of control too, Kellie!! Ahh!

Happy Friday!!!

I am finally joining the Blogging Mania. This is a little weird for me to write things about my life and allow everyone to read about it....but oh well!! It's the same thing as me sharing with all of you in person. God knows I love to talk...HA! :) Hope you enjoy reading and seeing the Good Times our family and friends share.
With Love, Daisy
