orange, orange everywhere....

from Texas Longhorn weekends to pumpkin patches...it seems like the entire month of October has been all about Orange!
here are some pictures of our visit to the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm in Celina (everyone has been to this one. the only thing different about my photos....they are my kids and not yours! )HA!! :)

it's been a good day today:
first of all, it's beautiful outside - sunny, 72 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. i went out for lunch and didn't want to come back to work. (but then again...who does).

since i've been back to work, i like to visit my sweet dylan every day at lunch. i love it- it breaks up my stressful day and it allows me to remember: Work to Live…not Live to work! family comes first and i enjoy every minute that i spend with him. he is so much fun right now….smiling, cooing and such a little flirty-flirt with the ladies at the school. he does that cute raising of one eye brow while smiling, which i'm sure will be his signature move for many years to come. looks a lot like his daddy ….
AND he slept in his crib for his morning nap…Yay! he's been adjusting to the new environment and only wanted to sleep in the swing. i wanted to transition him soon so that he doesn't get TOO USED to the swing for napping. i think we're all good now!

then, i ran to the store to look for costumes for our little munchkins. after all Halloween is only 2 days away and the clock is ticking. i have been looking here and there, but nothing really caught my eye and i wanted them to match. so i was starting to stress out a little. well, i finally found something fun, but they're still not going to match - oh well! sorry, can't tell you what their costumes are…you'll have to check back for pictures.
so, today has been a super day for me….
what can i say, i'm easily amused! ;) Happy Wednesday!

it's always nice to get out in this beautiful weather and shop for pumpkins at the local patches.
here we are outside the church we got married in just around the corner from our house. they have a nice little set up with scarecrows and lots of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes.

october wives night!

here is the group that was able to join this months get-together.
(missing from the photo: Beth- left just before the camera came out!)

gosh, can you tell i'm back at work? i've been such a slacker at updating our blog. so sorry!

well, after spending 10 wonderful weeks at home, i am back in the office and my sweet baby boy is in 'school'. i like to call it that b/c it makes me feel better about leaving him. i like to think that he is there learning how to be a big boy and playing with others - even though he just sits in the swing, or the bouncy or plays on the floor.... still makes me feel like he's in 'school' learning how to interact and be social. :)
i took a couple of pictures of his classroom and of him in action:

out the door- looking a little startled, thinking- "uhm...where are we going, mom? we really haven't left the house much since i've been born."

dylan's new colorful classroom

he made the "Wall of Pumpkins" on his first day. how cute!

still kinda freakin' out....but he'll get the hang of things soon....

you know- i thought it was going to be SUPER hard for me to go back to work and leave him at a daycare at such a young sweet age. but i had an amazing sense of peace that i know God gave me. i had been praying all morning before dropping him off so that i wouldn't break down like a total freak show...and he really came through for me. i was completely calm and at peace about the whole thing. i did get a little teary eyed when i was walking out the door and getting in my car...but overall, i survived. my honey went with me and i know that helped me tremendously.

how old are the spices in your pantry?

guess what i heard on Emeril's cooking show the other day? you really shouldn't have spices longer than 6 months. uhm, am I the only one that has some super old spices? time to clean out the pantry.

random thoughts.....
