Mother's Day

Saturday we spent the day at Lone Star Park. It was a gorgeous day, high in the upper 70's with a light breeze. (not the 40mph gusts of wind we've had recently, so the weather was really pleasant) It made for a super fun day with my kiddos and honey.
To top the day off...Lauren picked out the last winning horse and helped me win $60 from a $2 bet.  Whoohoo...good times! Such a special weekend surrounded by family!

Thanks to my honey and kiddos for making my Mother's Day a very memorable one..

Who Knew?

who knew those little delicious mini oreos and gummy lifesavers could be transformed into such an 'earthly' creature.
i present to you... one of lauren's art projects at school...
the inchworm!
too bad it's not edible. the teacher made it a point to let me know there was glue on the project.  so spoiled it for me.
(kidding, i knew it wasn't edible so instead I went out and bought a whole package of mini oreos) yum, yum!

{In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week...WE LOVE YOU TEACHERS! Thanks for all that you do!}

Texas Bluebonnets

Our visit to see the Bluebonnets was not as productive as I would have wanted it to be. Nonetheless, we were able to get a least a couple (and by a couple...I do mean TWO pictures of the kids...okay, maybe three...) that were cute enough to post. They just were not in the mood...and its O.K! Maybe next year.
At least the flowers stood still while I photographed...ha!

This last one was too cute...even though the blue bonnets were no where to be found as a backdrop at this point. {smile}
btw- Anytime we see wildflowers on the road while driving, Lauren calls them by their color...and then tags 'bonnet' at the end.  So those pretty little Yellow Flowers you see = YellowBonnets.
Hearing her say YellowBonnets is too precious!
