Quotes for the Day!
"Where will our country find leaders with integrity, courage, strength—all the family values—in ten, twenty, or thirty years? The answer is that you are teaching them, loving them, and raising them right now." --Barbara Bush
Okay, and a light hearted one too....
"You know the only people who are always sure about the proper way to raise children? Those who’ve never had any." --Bill Cosby, Fatherhood
{isn't that the truth; we all have someone like this in our lives...HA}
Happy Friday!
(ps. I have a new signature....isn't she caaauute?!) smile

Sugar Plum Fairy Tea!
Last Sunday, November 29th, Kevin's mom bought us girls tickets to the Sugar Plum Fairy Tea at the Westin Stonebriar Hotel where the Collin County Ballet Theatre performed the Nutcracker. We spent the afternoon in our Holiday attire having tea (magical fruit punch), sandwiches, cupcakes, and strawberries-n-cream while listening to the Story of the Nutcracker and enjoying the ballet. The performance was beautiful! It was such a nice time for us to spend the afternoon being 'girlie'. Lauren had a blast and is ready to begin taking ballet.
My little sunshine is growing up so quickly and I can't wait to see her first ballet performance.
I have a few photos to share of this fun afternoon. (my camera was acting up, so not the best quality, but still cute...so I just had to post)
ps. Oh, and our family friend Aminah plays the part of Claire; she is such a cutie!
here we are primping for the big event. can't leave the house without lipgloss!
all dressed up and ready to go!
Grandma'ma and Lauren skipping with excitement...
with "Claire" (Aminah)
....with a ballerina
such a cute group photo

Thanksgiving at Lauren's School
(This post is a little late and slightly out of order... just trying to catch up after the holiday week!)
Lauren invited us on November 19th for a school Thanksgiving Feast. Daddy and Dylan were unable to join this time around, but we had a nice mommy-daughter time eating lunch together.
I am so thankful for many things - one of them being my sweet baby girl. Well, not so baby anymore, but still...
She is so loving, smart, witty, and creative.
Her latest thing - She likes to ask me if I want a piece of candy or something similar...knowing that I am going to say Yes to be polite and then not eat it; leaving her no choice but to enjoy it for herself.
Sample conversation:
L: "mommy, you wanna sucker"
M: "no thanks"
L: "are you sure...it's really yummy" {grin}
M: "okay, I'll try it".
L: "here you go....or do you want me to hold it for you" {with this sweet motherly tone in her voice as she nods her head up and down.}
M: "okay, sure you can hold onto it until I'm ready"
Next thing I know...I forget about it...and she's eating it with a sweet smile on her pretty little face- very creative missy!

Tree Lighting and Celebrating Grandma'mas B-Day
Last Sunday, we went to dinner at the Shops at Legacy to celebrate Grandma'mas Birthday. Afterwards, we enjoyed the Tree Lighting Ceremony, while listening to Christmas music and taking photos with Santa. It was a nice way to start off the holidays. As the kiddos get older, each event and holiday is getting more and more exciting! (along with that, seems to come more and more pictures - enjoy!) *smile*
after dinner, Dylan is so excited to be on the loose...
family photo with Santa.
Lauren chatting with Santa...and Dylan wanting to get the heck off his lap.
love the look of 'awe' as soon as she sees Santa!

Christmas is right around the corner....
Yes, we survived the biggest shopping weekend of the year. We even had a chance to visit with Santa - twice! {wink, wink}
Lauren asked for a Christmas Tree and a Doll.
Santa must think our kids are really deprived....REALLY?!.. a 'CHRISTMAS TREE AND A DOLL?'...was it rehearsed??.. Cause I did not coach her?!.
And with Dylan screaming, Santa must think we are really mean to our kids. not cool and slightly embarrassing....
HAPPY SHOPPING!
