Happy 15th Months, Dill Pickle

My little Dylan is 15 months today....and already on the blackberry! :)

This morning I woke up super early because I knew that we would have to get everyone ready and out the door for Dylan's 15 month well visit at 8:50am. You might be thinking, 'that's not early at all', but uhm...yeah it is! Anyways, got everyone ready and lookin' cute, because afterall, you have to take the kids to the Dr. looking snazzy right?
Sooo...we packed up and headed for the appt, drove in rush hour, parked the car, unloaded the kids, bags, got in the elevator, second floor arrival "ping"...yay....almost there. Went to check in....we were early....yup....2 DAYS EARLY!!!! OMG! Can you imagine the look on my face? It was pretty upsetting to know that I had taken so much time to get everyone ready...and nothin', no appointment today. Ughh...we'll be back on Friday and I will update you on his stats.....

Then, same afternoon before lunch, I tried to unlock my car over and over again - come to find out...it wasn't my car. What is wrong with me? ....it's 9:24pm and I am ready for bed.

But I will say this....my little guy kept me smiling all day long! There is never a dull moment with him these days - gabbin', walkin', huggin', smilin', laughin'...and yes, cryin', but still....the most precious and loving little boy EVER!!

Fun at the Park

We managed to get out to the park last weekend when the rain stopped and Lauren and Dylan had fun time sliding, swinging, and chasing each other all over the park!

one second later....gone!

love his nervous giggles when he gets going really high...

Pre-Halloween Fun!

Kevin and I went to a Halloween Party at our neighbors house a couple of weeks ago with the Glasscocks...or should I call them 'House and #13'.

We had a great time, but only had a couple of pictures to show! Shocker, I know!

Baby Shower for Max

Our friends the Donatos are awaiting the arrival of baby #3 in December. We had a baby shower to honor their special baby boy last Friday night at the Fishpaw's house and the theme was Max's Closet. We wanted to make sure that he had some cute new outfits, since he will likely have plenty of hand-me-downs from Big Brothers Jackson & Ryan!

We are so extremely happy for the Donatos and can't wait to meet Baby Max!

Weekend Following the Piggy Flu

Wow, what a tough week!! I am just so happy its Friday!

One week ago today, I received the ever so dreaded phone call from Lauren’s school. “Lauren has a fever and is not feeling well…you can see it in her poor little eyes". Immediately I knew how our weekend was going to be spent. Poor baby-girl.

Well, I thought I knew…I had no idea that we would actually end up in the doctor’s office on Saturday waiting all afternoon with a hundred snot-nosed sweet children, witnessing a young boy projectile vomit 2 feet away from us. OMG! I didn’t know what to do first. A) Check my feet for sprinkles, B) wisk Lauren up from her chair that was even closer the boy, or C) run to the restroom to help the mom out. I chose to quickly grab Lauren and then run to the restroom for a million napkins. It’s amazing how quick you can be when you have to be.

When we finally made it into see the Doc…Lauren’s nose was swabbed for the ‘FLU’- gosh is that ever so torturous looking or what?! ouch!! After just a few more minutes… my baby girl was diagnosed with the 2009 H1N1 Flu! I was freaking out!! Of course, I stayed pretty calm, cool, and collected in front of the Doc, but STILL…FREAKING OUT INSIDE!
He said it was no biggie and this year’s type 'A' flu IS the SWINE FLU!!

So, he sent us on our marry way with a script for Tami flu, and an ‘oh by the way – good luck finding it’ pat on the back!! GREAT!! Lucky for us, we were able to find some at our beloved SuperTarget…phew!

Oh yeah, almost forgot to share…I went to the dr myself on Monday, after a night of chills, fever and extreme body aches. Get this; they made me wear a MASK. Oh yes, I was ‘that’ person sporting the “People Magazine Celebrity Swine Flu” mask. Except, I am ….a) not a celebrity b) not strolling around in a bikini on a semi-private beach with my sexy superstar husband – I was mortified!!!

I spent Mon, Tues, & Wed at home sick as ever....and praying, praying, praying that my little Dylan wouldn't get it. Which by the way…hasn’t! Thank God!!

Kevin caught a mild case, got on tami flu, and is also recovering nicely.

Looking forward to a beautiful weekend of health!

Dylan's Birthday Party!

well, it's official my baby boy is now 1! he's actually 14 months...but i'm a little delayed in updating my blog with birthdays, dr. appts, fun times, etc... so bear with me.
we had a small get-together and my mom's house to celebrate our little man's big day! he wasn't very excited about it, but gosh-darnit...we were gonna celebrate!! i notice more and more with kids that when you want really really badly for them to behave, be in a good mood, nap well, smile for pictures...they are adament about NOT doing these things. so this day was one of those days. all i wanted was for my sweet boy to enjoy himself and have fun with cousins and swimming. he's just not fond of the attention. however, once the singing, cake cutting, pictures were all done...he was truly a Happy Camper. you'll see the pictures below.

the last picture of the day.... doing pull-ups on the canopy at my parents house. having much more fun now!!

I’ve noticed that Dylan’s personality is so different than Lauren at 13 months. he is very, very active and all over the place...also very strong willed and vocal! he’s not using full words yet, but boy, can you tell when he’s not happy or wants something. When I am holding him, he likes to pinch my arms really hard; as if he’s afraid I’m going to drop him. (promise that has never happened, but if you saw him, you would think otherwise). As for my hair…pshh, i’m surprised I even have any left on my head. he is constantly pulling on that too. Ouch!

something i realized the other day - I probably need to watch what I am saying very carefully. Lauren turned to her baby brother and said, “DYLAN, you’re wearing me out!!” Uhm…I wonder where she learned that phrase from?? Not me. (Wink)

take me out to the ballgame....

this was dylan's first time to see the roughriders in frisco. we went a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. everyone behaved rather well, even though we stayed up a little later than usual.

the first sequence of pictures are of the little man trying to escape the stoller....

"maybe if i push real hard, i'll manage to get out..."

"okay, let's try kicking my legs like crazy"

"nope, let's push harder..."

"what does this strap do? maybe i can pull it off"

"let's try pushing one more time..."

"AHA...i'm out! this is much better"

"oh yeah baby, this is way cooler than being strapped in"

"what's up...just trying to enjoy a little ballgame...geez"

"no way am I gonna get close to that huge...mystery animal" so trying to escape...
"but lauren is enjoying herself, and that's all that matters."

"why is my big sis always pulling on me...ahhh!"

"i think it's time to go home. oh wait, just ooone more picture, just had to get a family shot!"
