Homer the Horse

last sunday was our first visit to lonestar park for the spring thoroughbred races. it was an overcast day with a 150% chance of thunderstorms....it only sprinkled. uhm, shocker!
anyway, turned out to be a exciting day for watching the horsies. and the pictures turned out great!

and they're off.....

don 't look at me, bad hair day!

these retro looking girls were parading around the stables. were they owners? we'll never know.

by the way, it was also dylan's first time and although the sun wasn't out, the overcast was squinting his sweet little eyes

do they really look alike?

as i was going through photos of dylan, i clicked on the wrong folder and it happened to be pictures taken in April 2007 instead of April 2009, so they were of lauren and not dylan. they are exactly 2 years apart, so a lot of their milestones were reached around the same time of year. and since dylan has all of her hand-me-downs, most of the pictures look a like.
many of you have have mentioned how much they look alike. i don't see it that much..until i look at old photos of lauren, wow- they do kinda look alike.

Lauren - April 2007 VS. Dylan - April 2009

full of giggles...

dylan enjoys spending time in his jump-n-go. he can jump for hours. okay, not really hours...but can definitely entertain himself for long periods of time. this time he had the major giggles and i had to get it on video. make me laugh every time i think about it. happy weekend!

way too smart....

today lauren said to me, "mommy, i want chips and crackers". i said, "first, you have to eat all of your lunch".
so, as soon as she finished, she said she wanted chips and crackers again. i went in the pantry and showed her a bag....i said, "do you want these chips". she replied, "NOOOOO mommy, those are not chips...those are pretzels".
too smart- can't fool her

so patriotic....

one of our neighbors {and friend} is running for city council. since we placed the sign in our yard in support of his election, lauren has been compelled to say the pledge of allegiance every time she sees it. and also loves standing by it with the biggest grin on her face and says...'cheeeese'. if we could just carry the sign with us every time we want to take a smiling still photo of her...that would be 'gold' (inside joke with some other friends).

so proud of our little patriotic pumpkin - such a smarty.

(check out the video of her reciting the pledge)

and btw - the hiccup noise is not me...i'm carrying dylan while filming - ha)
